Privacy Policy
This policy explains what information The News Engine collects and how it is used. Last updated October 2026.
Information we collect
- Newsletter: if you subscribe, we store your email address and the date you subscribed. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email or by contacting us.
- Contact form: the name, email address and message you send us, so that we can reply.
- Security logs: to prevent abuse we store a one-way, non-reversible hash of IP addresses for form submissions and admin sign-in attempts. We do not store raw IP addresses.
- Readership statistics: we count page views per story per hour to decide what is trending. These counts are anonymous and are not linked to individuals.
Cookies
Our own site uses only essential cookies — for example a session cookie that protects forms against misuse. We do not use our own tracking or advertising cookies.
Third-party content
Story images may be loaded from the original publisher's servers, and links take you to third-party websites. Those sites have their own privacy policies, which we encourage you to read.
How long we keep information
Newsletter details are kept until you unsubscribe. Contact messages are kept for as long as needed to deal with your enquiry. Security logs are deleted automatically after seven days, and view statistics after 90 days.
Your rights
Depending on where you live you may have the right to access, correct, delete or export your personal information, or to object to its use. To make a request, contact us via abdulmasud50@gmail.com or our contact form.
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it was last changed.
